I do not understand why you put up with that crap on the FOH boards. Especially from Utnayan. Brad it's one thing for some constructive criticism of Vanguard, but it's a totally different story than what we read on those boards and how hateful they are. Seriously. A lot of us have absolutely ZERO respect for a lot of those members on FOH forums.
I know you need some criticism from people that aren't followers exactly but still, they are downright mean about it and it really gets on our nerves the way they act.
We know the game has flaws, but we aren't cursing and bad mouthing you nor Sigil about it. We have faith that the game will be good when released and you guys have busted your ass making it so.
Guys, we need to get the word out about the game. I still post here so much more often than anywhere else -- so do the other Sigil devs.
The simple fact is sites like FoH get a LOT of views. Do we really care if there are a couple of guys there who like to flame things just to get attention? If we get 20,000 views on a thread about Vanguard and it has a few obviously negative posts just to get attention, then I think a LOT more good than harm has been done. I give the readers of this forum, FoH, and others a LOT more credit than to think they would be swayed by a few guys flaming to such a ridiculous extent that it doesn't even make sense. The vast majority will see the information and the screenshots and make their own opinions and I?m certainly not going to let a few mal-contents and attention-getters drive me away. Really, much more good than harm is achieved here.
We will support this board, our affiliate sites, but then we also need to reach out on other boards, even if there are a few un-friendlies, to get the word out about the game. If we just post here, we're often just preaching to the choir. Please don't take that the wrong way -- you guys rock and we are eternally and extremely grateful for the community that exists here. It's just that we've got to reach out elsewhere (foh, gucomics, etc.) to reach people who may not regularly read these sites or view the screenshots available on the official site or on affiliate sites.
I totally understand your frustration, and I don't enjoy the flaming either, but we still need to get the word out about the game wherever we can.
