Well its understandable that some may like different newbie experiences more than others. But it's what helps to add to the style and flavor of the world.
I remember EverQuest had Easy to Very Hard difficulty ratings based on Class/Race/God. My first character ever was a Dark Elf Shadowknight, that ended fast http://www.vgrangers.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif
