Continental effects are cancelled on death but not restored when looting - Vanguard C

This one confused me for a while, but as per title, if you die the continent effects from your equipment are cancelled, but they do not come back when you loot your tombstone.

The only way to get them back from there is to re-equip each item individually or re-log.

This also applies to logging on after a crash when the invulnerability effect is up.

If this is the case it should be happening with any on equip effect, is this true?
