Being a community rep for Sigil Games and lore writer, what all does your job entail?
Nick Parkinson: In a word (or six) it involves representing the community and writing lore. In a lot more words, it involves first and foremost monitoring the forums. Aside from looking really cool, that’s my main responsibility. The farther we get in to beta and the closer we get to release, the more traffic our site gets, the more time I’m on the forums.
In addition to that, I also interact with the fan sites – affiliate and other. I work to bring new affiliates into the program and maintain relationships with existing sites.
Aside of those two things I also maintain a lot of the Vanguard webpage. I keep the news updated, add pages to lore, take the pictures of the day – that sort of thing.
As for the lore, it’s all done on our own time on a volunteer basis and not actually a part of anyone’s job description. I love to write, as do Mike, Steve, Justin and all the others who have contributed to our lore – so when I can, I do. Unfortunately, time is at a premium now and it is much harder to find spare nights than it was in the past.
