Turns out that a lot of the adventuring staves were set up incorrectly. Martial Staves were using the "Two-Handed Piercing" weapon overskill (should have been blunt) and Bladed Staves were using the "Two-Handed Slashing" weapon overskill (should have been pierce); this has been remedied on my end.
So, for 2h weapons, Monks and Disciples will now have 3 weapon and damage-types, as was intended: Martial Staves (blunt), Bladed Staves (pierce) and Martial Swords (slash).
