Well, calling me a liar after talking to the developer responsible for ranger abilities doesnt help. Here is the last modified date on the ability in our /database/ 1/19/2007 9:32 PM. I have no idea what the change was or when it went live - though I'd suspect a while ago based on that date.

I /have not/ claimed that some undocumented change didnt get made to the damage. I spent the last few hours going through build notes trying to find anything I can get a coder to look at that could have caused this change.

So far, I've found one or two build notes related to damage, one of them being the change to direct attacks.

Nor am I claiming that your reduction in str by 6 points is the issue - I offered that up for people to /look into/.

Please, I understand you are frustrated, but I'm doing everything I can to try and track down an issue that I /keep getting conflicting reports on/ and I cannot repro a "massive change to my damage output" on my ranger. If there is a change, it feels to me like its in the 10% range, because its nearly inperceptable / is inpercetable to me.

I have one camp of people telling me that all of their melee abilities were nerfed. Another saying that only their ranged damage was nerfed. A third group saying that BOTH their ranged and their melee damage was nerfed.

The only number I've seen in common in multiple messages to me is the number 200. Its like this magical number thats come up a few times and I need a coder to look at it. One ranger claims to have gone from 1000 damage per finisher to 800 - every time. Other people are saying they went from 400 to 200 damage etc.

I'm trying to find out what circumstances this is all under - because if you believe we are out to make this game /bad/ then well, you probably should do what you are threatening to do. Its not in our best interest to make a horrible product or to randomly nerf people.
