First of all, I am so glad there are actually developers who really engange with the community.
Second, I am overwhelmed by the game and its progress, no doubt.
But one thing really stings, thierd:

"No matter who you are, we want to reach out to you"
I dont think that is possible. I think that is the false aim of all other MMOs whos player keep saying "this is to easy, you ve ruined it".
Trying to reach all will end up with reaching no one.
If you want to reach the mass, you will eventually have to make the game easier and easier. Thats what happened in EQ1 if you remember.
It s basement was amazing! I have never played a better game before and after (hopefully not until Vanguard comes out or I finally get to be in beta) but then, add-on by add-on it went down the hill.
Historical facts were ignored, click'n'travel systems were put in game and the entire game, basicly became a tetris with more colors.
I still dont get your point of view.
Do you want to make a good game that is true to your vision or a game that is true to "potential players"?
I hear you. We'd like to reach out to everyone and let them know about the game, but we are not trying to make a game that is all things for all people. Some people will hear about Vanguard, or play it, or see it played, etc. and decide it's not for them. That's a bummer, but I'd rather they hear about the game and be able to make an informed decision than to have never heard about Vanguard or only heard rumors without detail (or, worse yet, inaccurate rumors like the game is only for the hard core, etc.) -- that's what I'm talking about in terms of reaching out.
