The Threadbare robe has been changed... It was white, now it's red. Why not, but... you (or whoever did that) forgot to change the other parts of the set too ! So now instead of having a robe with shoulders that match the colour and style, i have a red robe with flame texture and white shoulders with the old texture and a different style.
If you change texture/colour/whatever, please do it not only for the robe, but shoulders and other pieces of the set too... or it just makes no sense.
Yea, that's my bad. I fully intend to make all of those match, as I've told the crafters over on VGCrafters. I began going through all of those sets late one night to remove all of the old white/grey (basically, they're untinted and really desaturated) and then update all of the sets to match. Turned out that it was a going to take me a bit more time than what I had that night (ie, about a week's worth of work due to unmitigated circumstances). Regardless, I am aware of the issue and intend to rectify it.

On top of that, it would be nice if you could change the things but still stay on the same colour/style range. Let's say you can change a texture... Then if you can change it, and keep the same colour, it would be nice. This is really annoying to make a nice outfit with different parts on the colour we want, then next patch, bam, the red robe went yellow, the red cloak is grey and shoulders are still red. Usually it means money spent for nothing and having to buy again the items...
I plan on trying to keep the same color, if possible, but many of the sets in the game are currently using very few of the combinations of tints that we have (there are two alphas on the items, not one) and we'd really like to add more variation to the game. Again, the goal is to get more variation of tints and models in the game but also keep the "sets" the same color. Doing sets for adventuring will be more difficult unless the set is clearly defined.

Now, about the change itself. The new texture is really better. Note i said the texture: the robe model still sucks. I mean, it's just a plain old robe with a nice texture on it. No fantasy or nothing.
I've mentioned this to the artists and will attempt again next week to try to get the meshes altered so they are more "billowy" and less skin-tight. Can't promise anything though but I definately agree with you. As for the fantasy side of it, many of the higher-end models are very "fantasy" based and much less plain robeish (see pic below).

-Will we get fresh new art that fits what the community wants ? I mean, NEW art. Not a new texture on the same old model used by 15 robes. New models, especially models that show some skin, sexy things, fantasy clothing. Like this damn Idara on the loading screen that looks like she's laughing at our clothes with her nice outfit we will never get.
Art is currently at work with new models. Additionally, like I said, there are a decent amount that you haven't seen, some of which shows some skin (omg omg). I need to see if the textures are updated and intended to be in (they're older models) but, if they are, I'll get em in. Regardless, I will definately pass your worries onto one of the art directors next week
I'm definately not against seeing more skin I'd personally like to see less of the chain underlay that's skin tight for the plate/medium users but that's something that I need to bug the art director about next week (was already on my list before this thread, hehe).
Btw, here's a robe that Arduz posted over at Graffe.com. It's one tint-variation of the higher tier Qalian ones. Can add to your list
