Adventurers are GUARANTEED their items if they finish the quests, as a crafter, I am only GUARANTEED a lottery ticket, and I have lost a lot!
Nor can we base it on the occurance of a group of 6 individuals getting lucky and getting a Heroic robe on the first named that they've killed in said dungeon
And keep in mind that, should you be rewarded that recipe, you are then limited only by ore when it comes to supplying both yourself and others with Heroics. An adventurer can do a quest once and only once to obtain a Heroic reward, as compared to a recipe that can potentially contribute more than a single Heroic to the game world.
So how do you compare a recipe that can award Heroic(s), an NPC that can award Heroic(s) and a quest that can reward a single Heroic? I can deduce the relative times required to obtain Heroics from a quest or NPC but determining the average amount of Heroics that enter the world from a single recipe is a bit more difficult Still waiting on that query, hehe.
Btw, I've only found 25ish quest(line)s in the game that reward a Heroic item. In general, there aren't many of them; they just happen to be highly visible and quested.
