Trust me, I want it in because it is more fun for the player, not to mention that it makes my life more fun and easier The more options that I have to customize/tweak items for specific arch-types/classes, the more room I have to have fun. I'm currently fairly limited when it comes to healer stats, heh.

Case in point, the recent changes to offensive/defense modifiers. Before, I had to worry about spending "just enough" points to get 1% to the offense/defense mods. By moving from %-based modifiers and to a non-% item/target based system, the resulting modularity means that I don't have to worry about spending that minimum. I can give an item a mod that might only equate to 0.5% to melee mitigation; that other 0.5% can/will be spent in something else. Be forced to allocate enough points for at least 1% has always been a pain in the arse
