I'm not against Cont effects. I'm all for them. Anything that adds flavor and variety is a major plus. What gets me riled up (and I assume the others that you are hearing from) is the lack of growth. I'd much prefer to see the bonus start at (for Kojan) +2 and scale up to +5. Or for qualian go from 3-6 to 10-12. Or whatever numbers you guys feel is balanced for each tier. Even better would be a bonus for multiple pieces of the same set. The extra bonus stuff you tack on instead is virtually irrelevent compared to the power of the "main" effects (hit point max by 8? Yay? Resists by 3? Damage shields on non-tank armor? :P). *shrug* Its become obvious that you and I have vastly different ideas for how things should be done. But don't take dissatisfaction for the current implementation to be dislike for cont effects alltogether (which you seem to be doing). Personally, I'd rather see more dusts and some level scaling, but anything that discourages cookiecutting is good.


Once again my point is you are complaining about something that is free and is absolutely no detriment to what you are making. You want something that is free to be made more powerful. The more powerful continental effects become the more adventuring will balance things out. Every effect is not meant to fit everyone, continental effects are not something you are custom building they are a result of the style you are using. They are not meant to target a particular class forcing classes to choose only a particular set.

I am sure that we don't have vastly different ideas on how things should be done, I am on both sides of the game and you are on one. There is a method to the madness that you are not privy too. My decisions are based on my environment.
