This was the only rare reward I received that I could use.
I also received 13 Shimmering Orbs of Distilled Magic which Carpenters cannot use - they are used by Mineralogists to make invis tablets and such.
I also received 11 various types of powders that were useable by mineralogists and other crafters (that could be applied to bales, samples etc... but NOT boards/timbers)
And the problem is that this ratio has held true for the entire 27 levels i have been crafting I almost never get rewards that "I" can use for carpentry recipes - if it wasn't for one of my good friends being a Mineralogist and him giving me Orbs of Pure Magic I would never have been able to make the 3 bows I have constructed.
Gist: Loot table for Carpentry WO's (or perhaps Artificer WO's in general) seem to be heavily skewed towards drops that are simply not useable by carpenters.
Thanks,
Wind
Invis tablets and all other expendables are trade specific not specialization specific. You can make them just as well as a mineralogist can as they use artificing skill, so the orbs you are getting are not useless.
The depth of the tables are no different then any other trades and once again I have to say it looks to me like bad luck. The tables look clean from my end and I would need a significant amount of data from various people in order to see if there is some odd issue with our RNG (which can be streaky at times)
