All they do is piss people off. There's other ways to offer a challenge without comps. Give us the possibility of a bonus, hope of gain... not fear of loss. If we do something correctly, reward us, stop taking away.

Note that turning them off means simply that. There will be no change to the system outside of them not happening. Crafting is not heading for a revamp and every suggestion here requires programming time which crafting does not need currently in regard to complications. This fact makes it quite difficult to justify using resources on complications when we have more pressing issues in our game.

Tweak them or turn them off is what is within my realm of control which is why those are the options listed. Anything outside of that requires code time and is not being considered.

Your suggestion still carries a punishment with it. In order for an accomplishment to mean anything there has to be some form of potential failure. Your suggestion just penalizes people for not being as good as someone else. Complications everyone has a choice to control to some extent regardless of overall skill.

Where are they?

There are approximately 875 crafting related quests in our database which equates to about 14% of the total current quests in our game (sorry was off by 1%). This does not include any adventuring quests that involve crafting.
