The text of the quest is vague and gives no indication of talking to any NPC whatsoever. I got the quest from the Invention leader. He told me to make the rod which I did using my own nickel. The quest text is from the Merchant Guild leader and it simply says to do what the Invention leader says and return.

Based on what I've seen I'm guessing that I have to go talk to the two gnomes. When I do so they don't speak of the quest at all.

I have not done the tonic quest yet and don't know if I have to in order to do this one. I'm going to try and abandon this quest, do the tonic quest, and re-start it.

I've got a problem with this quest even being in the game. Apparently it was horribly bugged at the start and now there isn't sufficient information to even try it. I'm all for doing the quest based on the information provided, but so far this is what I have to go on:

1. Make detector
2. Detector lights up when near volt star (actually it does nothing)
3. ?

That's it. Could really use some help figuring this out.

1. Do I need to do Tonic quest to do this one?
2. After I make the Volt Star Detector what do I do next? I've seen posts relating to speaking to NPCs and getting Nickel to make ingots but there is nothing in the quest information that indicates who.

Sorry to ask this but the quest is very unclear.

Goshi says, "Here are the plans to the device, but you will need to supply some of the parts. The device works by illuminating and pulsing when near a volt star."

"After you have finished the tracking device, return to me. By the way, if you want to enlist help, feel free to do so. It doesn't matter to me if you involve your friends and associates in Ahgram. I am only sending one payment though."
