Personally I can see the percentages are definately lower for evidence dropping down the tier as a fraction of the total information dropped. But the fact that more parleys lower down the tier result in some kind of information is going to skew this in favour of the popular belief.

As someone who does a reasonable amount of statistics I would not expect a 10% variance in a sample size of 3.5k

The drop rates are comprable for Evidence between middle and high loot tables.
