My only guess is that all the group fights we have seen have been lower-mid level so maybe they don't have all their perception skills and abilities yet?
Also, the main class shown is the Cleric iirc. Maybe the Cleric has less of them than others? For instance, it would be interesting seeing the Warrior or Paladin using their Intercept type abilities.
But I do agree.... would like to know why these don't seem to be playing as big of a role as it sounded like they would.
There's a couple parts to this right now. Regarding the cleric, his attack chains are only two step chains, with an opener and a finish, no bridges in between. That's why you see relatively few chain reactions. As for the other reactions, at the moment, the cleric's rescue is of the variety that is always available but with a long refresh, rather than the kind that generates a reaction. It's quite powerful (pulling aggro onto you for about 2 seconds) and when combined with a ward shield (blocks the next two incoming attacks) it can be very effective. As for sympathetics, some are done, but many are still being created. Right now, I believe the cleric has sympathetic reactions with disciples, shamans, blood mages, and paladins. As we didn't have any of those in the group with me, there weren't any opportunities for sympathetic reactions to occur. We intend to have more of these available, as the game gets closer to completion.
Overall, I'd say the cleric has significantly fewer reactions than most of the classes in Vanguard. However, keep in mind that their gameplay is already very reactive in nature (responding to the dropping health bars of their party). Casters, melees, and tanks tend to have more reactions appearing, not just with their attack chains, but also with counterspells, intercepts, and rescues.
