Greetings!
Many players were affected by our network connectivity issues last night. As such, we wanted to take a moment to communicate what was occurring leading up to and during our extended downtime.
Over the past day we had been experiencing connectivity issues stemming from problems occurring at our offsite hosting facilities. We had been closely monitoring the situation throughout the day yesterday and at the time, with information provided to us by our ISP, determined that we would be able to delay any downtime in order to have the least amount of impact on our players, both North American and Oceanic. Unfortunately the initial diagnosis did not hold true and we were forced to accelerate our original schedule.
Last night at approximately 11:15 PM EDT players began to experience intermittent connectivity issues. The issue became severe enough that our operations team determined that we could not reasonably delay maintenance any further. At this time we immediately dispatched members of our development team to our offsite hosting facility to assist our ISP with further diagnosing the issue and, more importantly, identifying a solution. We are now able to tell you that this issue was narrowed down to a faulty hardware component at the hosting facility. The hardware has since been replaced and all systems are now up and running.
Due to our strong base of fansites we were able to maintain a high level of communication to our players throughout this downtime. Thanks go to the staffers of these fansites for their continued support of not only our players, but also of Mythic Entertainment. Fansites, such as the VNBoards and Warhammer Alliance, have been and continue to be an extremely valuable asset to our community.
We would like to thank our players for their continued patience and support as we remedied this issue.
