anisotropic filtering, anti aliasing, etc. are all coming soon, and with the more recent cards, is relatively free (done in hardware), so we'll have minimal performance hit. I can't wait to get them in Vanguard, along with SLI/Crossfire, 64 clients, etc. but right now our priorities are to optimize for lower end machines and hardware first and then move on to the cutting edge later (you should see results by beta 4 though).
