We've been focusing on both optimzing lower settings and making them better. The following are screenshots of the same area at default Very High, Medium, and Low, and then at Low I changed some settings (clip plane, tree detail) but not much which made a drastic improvement in quality with minimal FPS difference.

And the game will continue to look better and be faster between now and release.
