Hate to say it Sigil, but nothing you can say is going to shut those people up. So, goes to show can't make everyone happy...

Like Jeff said in one of the articles, if the game is screwed up, it's all on us. I know some people are still upset about the SOE thing, and I can understand, but you know, so can Jeff and other people at Sigil who experienced the same thing. The bottom line is that what we did was best for Sigil, for Vanguard, and for you. MSFT just wasn't ready to put together events like this -- their priorities were elsewhere. I think as Vista ramps up and MSFT focuses more on PC Gaming, there will be a big change. And, like I've always said, we hope to be part of that and support MSFT too -- Vanguard simply wouldn't be here were it not for those guys. But they weren't ready for an MMOG of this scale, scope, and magnitude, and they knew it, and were beyond cool in letting us do the right thing for the game. And that right thing was SOE. And so far, I couldn't be more happy. And I'm pretty sure our friends at MSFT are happy as well too -- they've got another AAA MMOG coming out that's going to make both XP and Vista look good. So it's a win-win-win for all three parties, and also a win for you guys, the gamers.

To those of you who just can't let go of your feelings... well, it's your choice, I respect it, but you'll be missing out... missing out on the game, and missing out on the fact that it's the DEVELOPER that makes these games. The publisher (or in this case, co-publisher) is most certainly important and we couldn't do it without you guys -- but just as Elektra is I'm sure a great music publisher, what I'm interested in is the band. If Dream Theater goes somewhere else because it makes more sense for them and allows them to make better albums, hey, more power to them. As a music lover, I want them to do the right thing for them, which will likely result in better albums. And as a gamer, I want developers doing the right thing for them too, because I want great games. So we may miss out on a few sales, sure, and while I don't want to sound callous or flippant about that by any means, those few sales are not what's going to cause Vanguard to be a success or not. And that's simply the truth. We did the right thing for us, you, the game, and the genre.

'Nuff said.
