Brad, normally I agree with you with almost anything you've posted on these boards, but I have to disagree on this. You say if it is worth it it's not milking. People are playing plenty monthly to receive free new content. Take Blizzard for example. They've gone strong for years, constantly releasing new content without a price. It's not until now that they are finally releasing an EXPANSION. Guild Wars is another example, they don't even have a monthly fee.
The point is, Adventure packs should be free. New content should never cost money unless it is in a very large expansion. Take EQ1 for example. The first expansions were HUGE. Adding a new continent and a good year of content in each one. Then later, when SOE was fully in charge of everything, expansions became nothing but money milkers. The content didn't last more than a week and cost 30 dollars or more.
If Sigil takes on SOE's milk your money attitude, no matter how great the game is, I for one will not be playing. You should treat your customers with respect, and stealing (at least I consider it stealing) their money is not a good way to do that.
I have to disagree. Your logic says we shouldn't charge for expansion packs, because that's all these would be, mini-expansion packs. The money from an expansion pack pays for that team. The money from a mini-expansion pack would pay for the extra people to add MORE than what the live team would already be doing.
