So hopefully, whether the journey from continent to continent has to be done once or not, there will still be plenty of other places to explore on your ship that wont be negated by teleports.

The idea is to have multiple teleporters, not just one set that takes you from Qalia to Kojan, or Qalia to Thestra. In other words, even if your intent was to purely travel and not to expore, you'd still be spending some time on your ship. Our intent is still meaningful travel, even on the oceans.
