These don't have anything to do with land content. while it would be lovely if they could populate the entire ocean with compelling content to enjoy on the journey between continents I don't think that is realistic you'd never see the game realeased if that were the case.

Go read what Brad has posted about this in this thread. From your comments I don't think you even read them yet.

Not to mention there will be muliple teleports involved so you will still be spending time on ships -- probably at least as much as it takes to ride from one end of Thestra to the other on horseback.

And why make it so big? Expansions, plus as I explained in my map, there are a lot of islands not being shown currently. A LOT.
