Over at FoH, they have a huge number of posters that aren't going to follow Brad like sheep and purchase his game regardless of how good it is. Many of the posters over there actually have valid concerns about the game, and these concern often evolve into meaningful discussions about what should be improved, rather than immediately generate a multitude of generic "go play WOW" responses.

Sure, their forum is uncensored so anything goes but it actually contains A LOT of relevant information.

Brad knows that those are the people he needs to convince to buy his game, not the people over here.

It's that and also if you look at the number of views many posts get, including threads about Vanguard, you see numbers in the thousands, sometimes over 10,000. That tells me there are a LOT of lurkers. So while I would be great to convince some of the vocal skeptics there to buy the game, the primary reason I post on FoH, MMORPG.com, etc. is to reach out to all of those lurkers. As I've asked for before, if there are any other sites out there (that aren't owned by the competition of course) that get a lot of views, please let me know becuase I need to be there as well.

The flaming also doesn't bother me. If it's just flaming I ignore it. If it's hard quesitons, then I try to answer and clarify. I think that's what a lurker would want me to do. This will draw him or her to Vanguard, to these forums, etc. These people on the whole are quite intelligent enough to not be scared away by a few flamers who just will always criticize Vanguard no matter what -- in fact, it is likely the flaming will backfire and cause the lurkers to be that much more interested in a game that brings out such emotions in people.

Heh, it's like labeling that 2 live crew album that it has explicit lyrics. Their sales went crazy -- no harm was done; rather, quite the opposite.
