Just one comment: Perhaps one day players will realize they don't want a monopoly and that MMOGs MMOGs are just about the cheapest form of entertainment that exists.. There is a world outside computers, and in this world there are plenty of games. Among these games MMRPG is one of the most expensive kind, that maybe 95% of the world population can NOT practice. Among MMRPG, Vanguard will be one of the most expensive game, requiring for many people new hardware simply to store the 25 Gigs and to have a decent FPS.

Maybe for these particular population of players 60$ + 15$ per month for subscribtion + 5 $ per months for additional web features + 7$ every two months for episodic + 30$ every 9 months for extentsions is NOT expensive. After all, it is only 372$ per account the first year (I take always at least 2 subscriptions, so about 750$). Without any consideration of hardware upgrade.

Believe me or not, but I guess many players will not consider this to be the cheapest firm of entertainment that exists. And honestly I consider you have taken the right decision not to use this AP/episodic content system.

It was a pleasure to discuss with you. Maybe we'll discuss again in 4 months, unless you declare my presence too un-compatible with that poor community I've put in danger.

You miss the point that consumers *want* bigger and better MMOGs with more depth, etc. Weather it's a game like WoW or Vanguard, whether the focus moreso on total polish and cheaper machines being able to run your game, or whether they want a game like Vanguard (e.g. two games with different philosophies), they want them. But you can't have your cake and eat it too. It's like wanting a movie that costs $200M with all sorts of incredible special effects and the best actors but complaining that ticket prices are going up.

I bring up cool features and people get excited. I bring up an idea on how to get even more cool features into the game, but at an additional cost to pay for that additional team that would be doing the work and then it's 'oh no! we won't pay any more money!'.

Well, it doesn't work like that.

Count the number of AAA MMOGs in development, the ones with $25M+ budgets. You won't run out of fingers on one hand. Count the number of games like WoW that cost $75M plus, and you'll just need one finger.

Anyway, I'm pretty much done with this discussion.
