With WoW you get content at no additional cost with patches every few months or so. With EQ2 You pay for expansions and adventure packs if you want new content. In the end you pay more to play EQ2 and it isn't even a better game.
I'd love to know if VG plans on adding ample amounts of content with patches or if they plan to sell any decent content chunks as adventure packs and expansions only. An example of what doesn't count as good content added at no additional cost would be "Paineel".
Our plan is to do expansions every 9-12 months and then have a live team that is responsible for keeping the game balanced, the existing world up to date and to revamp areas when needed, and to add new content (more often than EQ 1).
I brought up the idea of a way to get even more content patched in by using AP/mini-expansions, but it seems a lot of people have had bad experiences with them and the responses were mostly negative. So we'll not be doing that until when/if the customer wants it.
