I long for a game realm with those kinds of freedoms. That is the main reason I chose Vanguard over LOTRO or any other MMO out there today.
I am a bit confused about the sea teleportation though. One reason I dont understand them deciding to do it was I thought they had a desire with this realm to "regionalize" the areas, and to limit the instantaneous travel as in other games? This regionalization was one of the things that really caught my eye with this realm I will admit it. As one who is a guild leader of a crafting focused guild, I can really see the potential in a system like that.
I am sure however they have valid reasons for it, and I wont pretend to understand all the things they have to contend with in development of a game. So hopefully they can find a middle ground with this idea and keep some of the regionalization and have the added travel teleportation feature as well.
You bet. The teleporters on the ocean do NOT equal instant travel. What they do is make travel time more similar to traveling on a horse across a continent. There's still time involved, but it's not the crazy amount of time that would have been required given the scale of the world and the difficulty of making ocean chunks all interesting.
