"I'll subscribe to Vanguard, but I'm not sure how long I'm going to stay with it. If the game turns out to be just another high-level raidfest, that means I'll cancel after a few months or so. BTDT--I'm not interested in doing that again. The fact that they're selling a 'guild edition' concerns me quite a bit in this regard. "

Quote 2
"I have to admit that not subscribing has crossed my mind. Which is a shame because the game had so much potential (which explains why I have 3700 posts on the official forums - number 29 in top posts!).

It appears to me that the game has been taken over by the adventurers. It seems to be, just like EVERY other MMORPG, about killing 1000s of default_mob001 to level and that's it."

Quote 3
"I played EQ from July of '99 until the lame-o Veterans Rewards crap and the Station Exchange announcement filled me with disgust for the marketing department of the Sirius Cybernetics Corpora-, er, I mean, SOE. With luck, Sigil will similarly manage to avoid getting to the straw that breaks this camel's back for five or six years."

Now, this next quote is from Brad on the same thread and ease's my mind some as long as it is the true current as well as future "Vision"... fighting off is tuff becuase they ( highend powergamers) are the most vocal in getting game designers to sway IMHO..

"Vanguard is designed so you don't need to put in long, contiguous times of play. We know people's lives have changed."

There are also plenty of other quotes by me and others about how it's been our intent from the very beginning that Vanguard be designed such that it is fun throughout the level range, not just at the 'end game'.
