Fanguard attendees left Las Vegas looking forward to calling Telon home, so I thought it appropriate to end this series by talking about the homes we will have in Telon: player cities.
According to Jeff Butler, players will cut their city-building teeth in NPC cities. The NPC society is, in many ways, the jumping-off point for player cities. For example, crafters will get essential recipes from NPCs. A player may talk to an NPC whose house is in a sad state of disrepair. That NPC may tell the player that if he can fix the house, the NPC - who is too enfeebled by age to do it himself - will teach the player how to build such a house. The player gets the materials he needs, fixes the house, and the NPC rewards him with the plans for the structure. Now the player can build a house of his own. Thus begins the long path toward building a city.
